Short of the Day is a small, independent project built around a single idea: show one thing, then stop.

A pool, and a page
An operator keeps a small pool of original short-form entries. The newest published one — featured, and dated today or earlier — is the one the site shows. Everything else that has run lives in the index, browsable by month and category, and every entry carries a running count of how people voted on it.
There is no fixed schedule and no automatic rotation at midnight. The run of plates on the front page shows the real dates entries went out on, blanks included, so the cadence is something you can see rather than something the site claims.
What it is not
- A feed
- There is no infinite scroll and no autoplay. One entry is featured; the rest sit in an index you choose to open.
- A video host
- No video is stored, streamed, or embedded here. There is nothing to play.
- A repost account
- Nothing is taken from another platform. Every entry is original sample content written for this catalogue, with a fictional creator name.
- Affiliated with a platform
- This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to TikTok, ByteDance, or any other service.
If something here is wrong
Entries are written for this catalogue, so there is no third-party work to take down — but if anything on this site is inaccurate, or a name collides with a real person, write in and it will be changed or removed. There is no formal service-level promise attached to that, because none has been set.
